Struts ( revised)
Ok here it goes, I own a 94 ES 300 with Abs. I am due for some struts. I have this thing for putting in dealer replacement parts, but this time the dealer is asking way to much for front and rear struts. So I was wondering what kind of aftermarket struts people are using and would recommend. I just want the same ride as the dealer struts but at a cheaper price. I am not looking for a stiffer ride or anything like that. I would appreciate the help and feed back from CL members.
P.S. Please no type of hear say, just hard facts.
Just for parts dealer is asking $ 160 - Fronts
$ 180 - Rear

Tokico struts are good. Or if you want adjustability, try Koni. Never buy OEM parts from the dealer unless you really have to.

Is that $160 each or pair? seems a pretty good price if a pair.. more or less the same price direct from Japan.
I am sure you could find other types of struts but i dont think you will find anything that is that much cheaper.
I order mine from Japan through Toyota. Take 2 weeks to arrive.

$160 each = 320 for fronts
$180 each = 360 for rear.
This is what I am assuming. Dealer would have told me if it is for pair. I am just really concerned with the quality of the ride. I used to have a Acura integra that had tokico 5 points all around and skunk work adjustable lowering springs all around and the ride was nice and tight but the car became a rattle box over every little bump. like I said in the original post I want the same smooth ride that I have( well used to have before the shock started to go).
Thanks again.
P.S. I need more opinions CL memebers.

if it is 360 for fronts then that is really expensive.... i am paying 170 $ for the pair of fronts...
call Toyota and say you want parts for a Windom... they will slice that price in half.. same car but you may have to wait a couple of weeks.. worth a try.

Also try Carson Toyota's parts department here in So. California.

They do alot of business with CL members and had a Club Lexus & IS300 meet there back in May. I attended that meet along with the TRD Open House/Sale in Tustin. BTW The tokicos for the Camry/Solara aren't harsh like the ones on the Integra.
Good Luck!
