Default Painted Eyelids and Calipers [Pics] 56K beware!

I finally painted the eyelids to match as suggested by Tuan. I sanded it down using 400 grit. I used 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of duplicolor black(couldnt find black onyx at autozone), and 3 coats of clear. Havent painted in a while so it didnt come out so perfect but whatever. The black does not exactly match but you cannot tell unless you're up close. Took me the whole day on tuesday to paint but i installed it with 3m double sided tape today.

As for Calipers, i really wanted to see how red would look on my black ES despite everyone telling me to paint it black cuz red is rice. I used some engine super high heat enamel paint from autozone. I used 2 coats of red paint and one heavy coat of clear. It turned out awesome! I love how the red contrast with the black.

Well here's some pics:

Condensation FTL!

It looks ALOT better in person! I'll prolly take better pics after i wash and wax the car tomorrow!

I'm debating if i should paint the back calipers red too....

Eyelids look great
Red Calipers...kinda too showy for the es...I painted mine silver.
BTW have you considered polishing your paint? I see quite a lot of swirl
Maybe start off with a Dual Action Polisher and work up to a Rotary.

lol all the swirls are prolly from all the drive-thru car wash i goto. As for detailing, i havent done jack other than just wash and wax.

I should really spend some time claying, polishing, compounding.

I cant wait till i save up about $1500 and paint the whole car mono black

If you can't really remove the swirls by yourself, try using a pure polish (Meguiars Pro Line) and Synthetic Sealant (NXT2.0) topped with a Caranuba Wax. The combination should help hide the swirls you do have.

The paint itself looks perfectly fine...(from the pics) I don't think your car needs an entire respray.

Loks good Manix,, the eyelids came out great and the red paint looks good on the calipers. One complaint tho,,,,how you gonna show us a freshly painted caliper,, and freshly painted eyelids,, and have BRAKE DUST on the wheels!!!??? LMAO!!!! Man get out there and show that car some love.

You REALLY need to get rid of that condensation, it just throws off the effect of the eyelid on that light.

Besides that, it looks hot bro, wonderful job.
