No....it won't get darker. Many body shops today use computer paint matching that compensates for weathered paint. It's up to you whether you feel like complaining because of a poor match.

go complain lol. and if they do agree with your complaint, most likely they'll add some more coat of gloss =0

be picky, you paid for it. but about the second time you bring it back they will hate you. trust me. then the quality of work suffers because they want to get rid of you...

i'll post pics tomorrow. when i got my car back it was kind of dark. stupid DST. but yeah i didnt pay for any of it, the woman that hit me did. she payed $584 to get the hole in my bumper filled and repainted. they repainted the grey and the champane in my two tone bumper. you can really notice the difference when the metal body panel meets with the bumper.

Nothing to worry about.
Basically, the gray part (oem) has faded a little over the years.
Also, there are scratches and other contaminants in the old paint that prevent it from being a deeper gloss. I noticed on my grey bumper, after i polished one spot, it got darker and more reflective as a result of removing the surface scratches.
I think a good buffing, a pure polish (glaze) and some wax on all the original gray/silver parts will make them match better.

Everybody is right about the old paint being "out in the environment". If they were a better than average body shop, they would have buffed out the areas adjoining the repainted part to accomodate for this noticeable difference. Like Tuan posted, use some compounds to freshen up the old finish. This would be your best bet.

yeah, take it back. hey look at it this way, if she didnt hit you, there wouldnt have been this much complication that you wouldve gone through. but now, youll have to go through more because the shop didnt do it right. i wouldve made them respray the whole bumper again. then blend with the rest of the body panels. on average, it takes about 1'-1.5' to blend correctly. but again, it depends on skill level and quality. and if it happened to me, i wouldve brough it to a high quality shop. how do you find out you ask? call around for quotes on a whole body spray, and see what they charge and what exactly they do. this way you know the quality, thus usually being a higher price. then tell the insurance to go through them.
but again, thats me. i fixed up my car. im proud. and i believe my cars overall image is a reflection of me. thats sounds strange. lol
goodluck

That definitely does not match. It almost looks like the wrong paint code.
