hey i have a problem with my engine light.... i recently installed a jdm engine and i have found a home for every plug except the fuel warmer on the side of the intake... without the fuel warmer pluged in the engine light doesnt come on when i start the car... when the car warms up and i rev the engine to about 2000 rpm... the light comes on and stays on... now i have heard that if you use 93 octane gas and fuel injector cleaner...( since the engine has been sitting for ever)..... it can give the o2 sensors a weird reading ... hence the yellow engine light... not too sure what to do.... please help, any advice would be great!

Since you can't go to Autozone to check out the engine code because the car is before 1996, you need to go to a mechanic shop to check the engine code readings. It might be one of the 2 oxygen sensors or the knock sensor.

to check the code, all you need to do is go to the diagnostics port on the passenger side and jump the E1 port to TE2 port ( ignition completely off) the go back iside the car ad turn the ignition to ACC then cout the number of times the Check Engine light blinks fast and slow and that would be your code < for example, if it blinks twice then pauses then blinks once; your code would be 21> . you can come back here and post your findings and i'll let you know what the code is for.

It might be a knock sensor, cause when I had my 92 I would rev it up to 2k rpms and the light would come on and found out it was a bad knock sensor, but first get the reading and find out the code number
