A/C gone bad
When ever I turn on my A/C i get a squeling noise and I assume that it is my A/C pump bearing going bad and so it is robbing me of power and more importantly gas. I have no money at the moment to fix it so I am thinking of just cutting the belt for now. Can anyone confirm for me that the belt I want to cut is the one that only goes around the engine and the A/C and it heads towards the back of the car, and the belt I don't want to cut is the one that goes around the engine, the altenator (that is the object that I am positive of what it is) and I assume the third pully is the Water pump, this is the one heading towards the nose of the car.

it depends on which vehicle youre speaking of. but for 92-01 es300s the belt to the back/firewall is the ps pump. the one that you need to cut for the ac cant be cut, because it also leads to the alternator. so dont do it. and when time to replace it, just buy one from ackits.com. trust me, do not rebuild. save yourself the time and energy. because i rebuilt mine, and put it back together, and then the hub went bad. so i had the buy a whole new unit anyways.

So the car right now has 160k miles on it and I am going to keep it for atleast another two years (which it will then have alteast 200k miles on it). So when I do, do the a/c pump should I just replace the altinator too while i have it out?
