Default wanting to replace suspension on 96 es300 :O

hey, i dont really know anything about suspensions, so im curious if you guys know of a reputable place to buy stuff online. i dont really know what i should buy exactly. im gonna have my friend install it all once i get them.

any suggestions as to what brands i should go with? my ride right now is smooth, but really bouncy(not bumpy). i would like to eliminate most the bounciness whilst retaining the smooth ride.

any suggestions as to exactly what i'll need, good/reputable brands, and some online shops? thanks!

edit: ok i just saw the sticky. i see a bunch of parts listed, but dont know exactly what they are and whats needed. so im still kinda lost.

well... if you want to do a suspension renovation you should look for "renovation" thread by sloooooooow(sp?). i would try rockauto.com
i recently just did a complete suspension for my 97.
included:
-Moog swaybar endlinks(~$60/piece)
-Moog tie rod end(~$40/piece)
-OEM Toyota balljoints(~$55/piece)
-lower control arm bushings - energy suspension(~$40/set)(~$40 pressed in)
-rebuilt Ksport coilovers(~$100)
-new OEM Toyota CV boots(~$55/side)
-new whiteline swaybars with bushing
the work was done by myself and a buddy.total of about $700 including all kinds of junk. it took approximately 3-4 days to do.
so i hope you give your buddy a helping hand, it will be good to learn, or else you will owe him big time.

goodluck
Charley

also, dont forget the dogmount, front engine mount, rear engine mount, and tranny mount. very easy, except rear engine mount, this is a PITA because removal of the passenger axle will be required, but if you do the cv boots, then you kill 2birdw/1stone. those should help a lot as well.
and if you are still stock shocks
i would recomment new shocks and new strut mounts.

PerformanceCenter.com
334170 KYB Front Right GR-2 Twin-Tube $70.53
334171 KYB Front Left GR-2 Twin-Tube $70.53
334133 KYB Rear Right GR-2 Twin-Tube $59.44
334134 KYB Rear Left GR-2 Twin-Tube $59.44

http://www.andysautosport.com/lexus/...a00039499.html
8235.14 Eibach Springs - PRO-KIT (Lowers Front:1.0 inch/ Rear: 1.0 inch ) $285.50

just looking for a strut brace and sway bar now.

are all these items below really necessary?:

"-Moog swaybar endlinks(~$60/piece)
-Moog tie rod end(~$40/piece)
-OEM Toyota balljoints(~$55/piece)
-lower control arm bushings - energy suspension(~$40/set)(~$40 pressed in)
-rebuilt Ksport coilovers(~$100)
-new OEM Toyota CV boots(~$55/side)
"

i dont really know what any of those are, except the coilovers(i think) which i dont think would apply for me. but i dunno either, maybe im completely wrong. :O if its not too much hassle, would you please describe those above items? i'd really appreciate that. thanks for input man. i really appreciate do it.

I commented on a thread about KYB struts a while back. Many peeps here gives them a if your just interested in keeping it like stock.

I recalled the person asking the question about buying it off ebay because the price was pretty good so check it out there too.

moog is the brand, swaybar endlinks uses a non serviceable balljoint that connects from swaybar to shock body. the stiffer/stronger, the better -less body roll.

tie rod end uses a non serviceable balljoint for connecting steering rack to knuckle to help you steer your vehicle, which through time the grease dries up and the boots rip, causing failure to balljoint.

same with lower balljoints

cv boots will wear eventually thus causing all the grease to flow out. and if driven long enough without grease, which i did, the units will literally break down and start chunking off from the heat.

and swaybars are puny. these prevents body roll. i upgraded mine, which others may disagree. but i do not go autocrossing/street racing of any sort. i just want less body roll because my suspension setup is very aggressive.

Goodluck.
