Default New to CL - Couple of Questions

Hey, I just bought my '93 ES off my uncle a couple of months ago. I have been eyeballing the thing for years, hoping I could buy it and was finally able to. Its got around 146K, and has been kept in pretty good shape mechanically. Other than an oil change and new tires I have been running the thing as is for the last few months, but was hoping to get some advice on somethings that need work on the car:

1.)Light going to all of the dials are out, except for the gas (lucked out on that). What kind of quick-fixes/alternative solutions can anyone offer?

2.) When idling, RPMs will dip and lights will dim, also while driving at night, when i take my foot off the gas and apply brakes, i notice my headlights dim. With this many miles on it, should i be getting a new alternator?

3.)Lastly, any advice on cleaning the headlight housing. The projector lamps are one of the coolest parts of the car, but the housing is all fogged up. I'd like to be able to clean that up.

If I could get any help on any of these things that would be great, as well as heads up on any problems I should anticipate that many ES's experience (what parts may wear out, what will need work, etc) THANKS!

1) There are threads on this, A quick search will help you out.

2) This does seem like an alternator putting out low voltage, Have it checked for free at a local auto part store.

3) A good rubbing compound, such as 3M Perfect-it III works good for this. It is available at most Automotive paint supply stores
