Yeah, IMO, the only thing going for 02> is the interior. I don't like the shape at all. I've driven them though and they were super quiet and fun to drive.
More than likely, I'll stick with 00-01

Also, let's say the dealer wants 12k for an 00. In general, how much room is there to bargain? What would be the lowest they can go without hurting themselves?

I just came accross a very nice '99 ES for a very attractive price. Although I was looking for an 00-01 because of some minor cosmetic changes. I think the only thing that will bug me if I get this one are the amber tail lights. How easy would it be to swap them with red/clears. I'm sure the dealer sells it, but it may be a bit expensive. Are there any other alternative solutions out there?

You could do the tail light swap and wood grain steering wheel swap for less than $1000. The front bumper is optional as they don't look that different from an 00-01.

Factor that into your purchase price and see if it is worth the buy.

LXMN - your headlights look awesome...VERY nicely done.
I think I'll just want to do the tails and not the steering. So what do you think that will cost me? I searched ebay but didn't come accross any red/clears. Is dealer the only option?
