VSC or No VSC
Hi
I am going to buy a 2001 ES 300 but I am not sure if the car has VSC
When I switch on the car it has two lights related to VSC
- TRAC OFF
- a car symbol w/. 2 SS line below
Does that ES has VSC?
How can I tell?
Thanks

I have a 2000 ES300 as well. Its only got a traction control button. I think thats the same thing as VSC Vehicle Stability Control they just didn't put VSC on the button. It does the same thing...I think

As I know the Traction Control only work when you start but the VSC working during cornering or slippy road. I found the button for the Traction Control which located at the bottom of the steering column. Once I press the button it has a light show up w/. TRAC OFF but not VSC.
The other one light up with a car symbol & two line of SS when I start quick. Same like that is trac. control. It does not sound making any sense that it has two buttons for only the traction control??
I am so confuse now?????

im almost positive it has vsc, because you can turn it off, o by the way, we have a 2001. but im not sure, because wasn't it an option?, so some cars might have it, some might not. and i think it's different from traction control, but either way, if you are worried about this car in the snow, because it says you are in canada, don't even worry, hope this helps

It's much different it uses the brakes to adjust the car as your cornering, lower overall skidpad numbers but much safer for the average driver in hard driving, and i don't believe it's completely defeatable even if you push the button. It's exactly what the es needs, besides maybe a bit of pitch control.

Thanks for all the input!
Yes. It is safer w/. VSC. i had a Acura TLS (been leased returned) which has both TRAC & VSC. It so much helpful when you turn or in snow. It brake on one or both of wheels to retain the traction. As I mention TRAC Control is only work in Starting. It prevent the wheel spin.
Anyone sure if the flashing of Car symbol light is the VSC or the trac control in place???

My 01 definitely has VSC.
My car got stuck in the mud yesterday after the ground thawed and the rain softened up the loose dirt turning it into mud. I had my car parked in the front yard cause I had alot of stuff to carry into the house and wanted shorter trips. Frikin VSC light was just a blazin on and off while I was tryin to get out of my mudpit. It also lights up on slippery roads when there is snow and ice and the wheels start to slip.
