ok so in my engine coolant i looked in there its the redish/brown coolant so thats the special toyota/lexus coolant correct? i called toyota they said they have it its about 19$ a gallon? so theres just ONE kind of the red coolant they use right? i dont want to get a wrong kind for my engine and mess things up
i asked a question about it but i got confusing info

yes, only one type of red coolant. and id suggest you flushing the coolant system and clean it. and then add fresh coolant.

do not mix red with green coolant.

no i got the red coolant thats why i asked cuz one of my friends told me to just poor some green coolant in and i said no lol
but i just called lexus they just told me toyota uses 50/50 and the red coolant but the red coolant they mix with something else?
and i dont know how to flush my coolant out will toyota do that for me?

Yes, a dealer can do a coolant flush for around $85-$120

Its a 50/50 mix of the coolant and water.

damn... i just spent alot of money i just got my brake calipers and brake pads done yesterday
what happens if i put new coolant with old coolant
both red?

Nothing will happen. It just isnt as effective for maintaining your coolant system properly.

It is best to flush out the system, or completely drain the system and top off with a new 50/50 mix of water/coolant.

not necessarily, im sure you will have a lot of calcium buildup and junk. and like jsm said, it probably wont be as effective. but it should be fine.

btw, its actually really really easy to do a coolant flush.

flush it, my 97' says in the owners manual and chiltons say ethylene glycol as the coolant type. It says nothing of toyota specialty nonsense or colors?

well i got the 1mz engine which is in es300 lexus and toyota camry same red coolant so i mean i dont see why they would make a different coolant for them? but i could be wrong anyone else have some info to tell me before i add the toyota coolant in?

I'm just saying I've never read anything that stated toyota coolant only.
