my breaks are squealing. im not car savvy, but i'm pretty sure that means that something isn't right. also, when i have to brake hard for whatever reason, i can feel the brake pedal vibrate, and the car seems to try to brake in quick bursts. kinda hard to explain. like i would hold the pedal down, and i can feel the brakes apply themselves in bursts, on and off really quickly(like 4 or 5 times a second). maybe thats the ABS tho, i dunno.

anyways, just wanted some opinions on what i should replace. just the discs? and/or the rotors? what should i look for when replacing discs and rotors? and, is this a job that a novice can do? i can learn quickly, i just dont know how to do it.

you should diagnose it, or take it somewhere to get it diagnosed, further words typed would be useless in this case.
If you follow a service manual, and know every word defintion they use, then you could follow the manual and have a good chance of succeeding. that said, if you never even changed your oil before, then a brake job is a bit too thick.
