we saw a thread sometime back regarding the small black button inside the glove Box ( Lower) the small one works the glove light , but whats the secret black button Do ?? hope its not to trival , But its bugging us . Thanks in advance

yes trunk release button disable. its for valet parking. where u lock your glove box and disable the trunk button. but weird though, i dont think 2nd gen has a valet key =0

and... i hope those sneaky valet people dont steal what's in the trunk through the trunk pass through.... lol

I only have two keys that are identical. I don't have a valet key, either, but I can't say that it was not available at one time.

that button is probably more useful for police officers who do not follow the law on searches :> just say, "my trunk doesn't open," or something.

lol, good call. I didnt think about that one....

come to think of it, pretty sure my trunk pass through has a same lock on it as the glove compartment

The only working key I have for my second gen is my valet key, which sucks because everything has to be locked and unlocked manually.

I looked at the button on my car car -- it's even labeled for the function. i wonder if your label fell off?


I would but I have two keys, so if I were you I would plunk down the money to get a new key from lexus, make your life so much easier and happier for only about 150 bucks or whatever they charge
