lol obviously llcoolpass still didnt get over the hype that he owns a 5spd ES3

but i think it's a great idea. This can be a check-in thread for the 5spd guys here at CL!

93 5spd ES3 over here. Had it since dec. '05! just turned 91k miles!

Judging from the past threads, i'm guessing there's a good 5-6 members who owns a 5spd

I have a 93 5spd I bought it in August im about 50 miles away from 91k miles. I had a question for the rest of the 5 spd guys. What kind of condition is the leather boot around the shift lever in your car in? Mine is pretty worn and I wanted to get a new one but when I went to the dealer they wouldnt let me order a new without buying the woodgrain piece around it. Together they were like $400 and I didnt want to pay that much, anyone know were I could get a good deal on one?

damn that sucks. Funny my shift **** is worn but the shift boot is fine. But yeah I would think you need the complete set with the woodgrain because when u pop it off u can tell that its one piece. But maybe you can get a custom one and somehow mount it on there....this is only cosmetic so it shouldnt be a problem

92ES5sp, I'm still envious of your car's condition. So clean, so dent/scratch free, looks absolutely beautiful!

I wish they made my gen with a 5spd so i could swap one in. Since i want to sell my car for a manual i kiddingly said to my dad that we should swap one into my car. he liked the idea but there prolly isnt any pretty straight forward swaps right?

what do you mean by it isn't straight forward swap?

as in... its not going to be a good walk in the park swaping?

of course its not going to be. but it can be if you can cuztomize easily.

but I can tell you that you can swap it. just that most of your internal work have to be customize.

like...shift console, shift trim, clutch pedal, master cylinder,

but as for tranny is no problem. you can literally drop in 5spd v6 solara, mr2,camary, and of course lexus in your car. within the year range that is.

Well youre pretty lucky to have a 99 ES300 with only 60K on it being 16. That thing is still a baby! When I was 16 i was driving my parents 88 Isuzu Trooper LS. I learned how to drive a stick on that. It was waaaaay underpowered.

"I just purchased the car, but it needs to go ASAP because I am going to college in January and cars are not allowed on campus"

Quote from the link

why can't he have a car on campus?

i mean, if he really literally means ON CAMPUS grounds...

but seriously.... I've never heard of that before.

Freshman usually cannot have cars on campus.
