Default Air/Fuel or o2 sensor. How to tell which one you need? California Emissions

Alright guys I keep getting a code for p0135 on my 1997 ES300 which is for o2 sensor closest to the firewall. I replaced with a brand new sensor from Toyota and the CEL comes back on after about 50 miles. Now I understand some ES use air/fuel sensor and some use o2 (yes there are two different part numbers from Denso from them! I noticed in previous posts people say they are the same thing which per DENSO website they are not!!!). My question is how do I tell which my car uses? Unfortunately I threw out my old sensor after I replaced it so I can't even refrence that. Any help is appreciated.

Check out the bank 2 sensor in the manifold with a flashlight. See what number it is. I believe bank 1 and 2 are interchangeable. You can find out precisely by calling a couple dealerships, saying you would like to order that part, give them the vin# and they will tell you the part number. It'll prob be something like 8946*-4****
