I went to advanced auto parts to check my starter, they weren't any help.

I did not. LOL! I was not aware I needed to do so. That's why one of the guys looked at me like I drop kicked his dog when I said I didn't take it off

This happened to me and in my case it was because of the battery. I thought my battery was fine too, I fully charged it and I just managed to get it started. I took it to a specialst the battery store and they said my battery was really on it's way out - had one dead cell and was holding very poor charge.

I bought a brand new battery and no problems ever since.

Now I'm not saying that in your case it's definately the battery, but I would suggest having your battery professionally tested.

Starters don't typically go out in the '00-'01 ES, so like others have mentioned I would first go and get the battery checked out. At least that's a lot easier than diagnosing the starter. Are you currently on the factory battery? If so it's probably due time to get it changed since it's almost 8 years old.

So my car has been at Toyota since 8 am, they call tell me my vehicle is fine all electrical is perfect battery, alternator, starter all in tip top. but they come back telling me my valve covers are leaking . $600 bucks da#$ it's always something.

They explained the problem starting as I probably left an excessory on I can dig it I got a 7 year old at home she could've left my door cracked but why would the car act up more than once.Is it because the battery wasn't fully charged the first time?
