Default Good or Bad Deal

so my dad needs a new car, found one on craigslist a 95 es300 with the engine replaced at 100k, needs an alternator, and has a little rust right above the windshield for $2500, no pics, but going to check it out tomorrow what are some of your guys' opinions

sounds like a good deal as long as its mechanically sound. Body work can always be done on it and at that price its reasonable.

If you're willing to travel I did see a clean 94 today on boston.craigslist.org with 60K miles for about $6K.

Not a bad deal but 100K is pretty low mileage for an engine failure. Id check the maintenance history of the car.

Agreed - sounds like it wasn't maintained very well...
