Stereo replacement question
I plan on replacing the factory system with a good aftermarket system in the next month or so. I have a '93 ES300 with Pioneer deck and 6cd changer. I can replace this myself. My question is, are there any special precautions I should be aware of as far as the security system is concerned. It is my understanding that you just can't do a straight "swap the factory deck, attach new harness and put in new deck" in the later model cars because it can screw with the security. Am I correct in my thinking? Is there anything else that should be bypassed/disconnected when taking out the factory unit?Any tips are greatly appreciated.

The security system should be fine. The only thing to worry about is bypassing the factory amp. Oh and I'm not sure how to re-wire the cd changer (I just took mine out), but once you got that aftermarket deck, just bring the cds to the front.

Thanks 3000. I knew the amp might be an issue. I'll have to tinker with it a bit. As far as he CD changer, I'm not worried about that too much. I use a 60GB Ipod for my music anyway, so my main concern is a unit to control the Ipod, like a nice Alpine (they seem to have the best ipod control units).
