Hey guys I just my front KYB struts mounts in the mail and I wanted to know how the bearing stay in place on the the mount, cause if you flip the mount over they fall out, what holds them in place?

the spring pressure does, dont worry when you have it all apart it makes more sense especially to see the old parts

 

I dont know because I put this on the new spring and it doesnt hold it in place cause the spring is actually wider than the where the bearing sits.

should be similar to your 96 , 95, not 92,93,94

 

here is what your 1996 suspension supposed looks like , see the parts YOU [not on my car] are supposed to have? that's why I'm saying this will make more sense when you take apart, assuming you bought the correct parts and not make an oopsie and bought 1992-1994 model year es 300 parts.

red is very important to have new parts
yellow is not a bad idea to do as well
[upper spring seat is more like orange, i would get that knowing what you are doing with your car from previous correspondance]

 

I have everything there except the upper spring seat and lexus doesnt stock it.
I checked where I got my parts and they have it for 97-01 ES300 will that work?

 

if it's the same, it will work ....
as far as finding the part, check with toyota dealers, too, and check more sources in general is my advice.
if your upper spring seat is in perfect condition, then it doesn't matter to replace it. but , sometimes they are all rusty and crusty and therefore musty go, so ....

I'll let you know if I find it.

Here are the struts with new coils, lower spring seat, upper insulators, mounts all I need to do is find that upper spring seat and I should be good

 

I figure I post my pads and rotors, still waiting for calipers to come in.
