96 ES300 Headlight question on bulbs
I just got a 96 ES300 and I was looking to see what I could do as far as the Headlight bulbs are concerned. I was considering getting a HID conversion (wondering if people who have this model car are happy with the results) or what would be the best bulbs I could buy that would provide me the cleanest light (if that makes sense).
For anyone who makes any reccomendations, if you could refer me to a site where I could get the items from, I would appreciate it.

Here is my write-up for installing HIDs in my 1993 ES300.

If you decide on HIDs I can recommend XenonDepot. I have no complaints about their product, whatsoever. I've heard some horror stories of those who have "cheaped out" and bought a low cost kit on ebay only to discover it had fake HID bulbs in it, or they didn't fit, or they sent two different colored bulbs, or they only lasted a few weeks before dieing, etc. etc.
With this sort of product, I think the old saying "you get what you pay for" really is true.

I wanted to do the HID, and still may, but as a low cost option I decided to install Sylvania ultra night vision low beam bulbs last week. So far, they are a slight upgrade over the regulars, the main difference being that they produce whiter light. There are several different high performance bulbs that they market, with the brightest being the ones that say ultra night vision. I'm still not even close to my girlfriends HID's though. I picked them up off of ebay for 25 bucks. You can figure out which model number you need by going to the sylvania website, then search for that number on ebay.

Sylvanias are a good upgrade before HIDs. I personally went that route due to my projector bulbs being sun damaged/oxidated or whatever. Gonna bake them eventually to clean then upgrade to HIDs haha
I have Ultras btw

I personally am not a fan of any performance halogen bulbs. My experience with them is that they burn out rather quickly and are not cheap to replace. This was way before I got into the HID game.

thanks guys, when I go ahead and get the HID's, I will get the kit from XenonDepot. The problem I dont want to run into is blinding other drivers, my brother in law thinks that putting HID's in headlights that were not designed for them will cause them to spread the light all over instead of focusing them. Any idea on how to prevent this?
