1996 window regulator & motor are compatible to a 1993 , for the rear driver side door power window

right? or wrong?

The motor and regulator are sold as an assembly.

im thinking that those little square ends are just slide onto the steel braided cable, and then soldered on. so, im going to buy some bicycle shifter cable [same thing as far as i can tell] and im going to desolder the square things then replace the cable! hopefully this works/is possible.

thanks for your help so far

ps lexus wants $484 for the part! That's why im willing to replace just the cable :>

My drivers side rear window did the same thing. I was considering replacing just the cable, but it looks like one of the plastic clips that the cable rides in was stressed, so I think I'm better off replacing the entire thing. Make sure you check all of the little parts to make sure none of them are stressed or broken because of the cable binding. And also check ebay for regulators, they are around 100 bucks iirc.

All I can tell you from experience with other regulators is that you need to be extra careful when removing and installing those bolts.
