my wife just picked the car up from the shop and it was leaking from the power steering. I read when i was looking about leaking transmission fluid that people use transmission fluid for power steering.. so it got fixed, at least its not the transmission. I added some transmission fluid to the transmission thinking, and told, it was that initially... will that hurt the transmission?

From the Lexus ES300 FSM:
1. CHECK FLUID LEVEL
HINT:
Drive the vehicle so that the engine and transaxle are at
normal operating temperature.HINT:
Drive the vehicle so that the engine and transaxle are at
(Fluid temperature: 70 – 80C or 158 – 176F)
Only use the COOL range on the dipstick as a rough reference
when the fluid is replaced or the engine does not run.(a) Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
(b) With the engine idling, and the brake pedal depressed, shift
the shift lever into all positions from P to L position and return
to P position.
(c) Pull out the transaxle dipstick and wipe it clean.
(d) Push it back fully into the tube.
(e) Pull it out and check that the fluid level is in the HOT range.
If the level is at the low side, add fluid.
NOTICE: Do not overfill.
If your ATF level is too high, there is a drain plug on the underside of the transmission for removing fluid. Just untighten the 10mm Hex bolt enough to that the ATF starts to leak out. When you've drained (more than) enough, retighten the plug. Then recheck your fluid level at the dipstick and top up with new ATF to full level.

What do you mean by "blew"?
Not at all surprised that the stealership is walking away. That's exactly what POS low-lifes do in such a situation.

no used car lemon law in FL. And my mechanic said that gaskets werent done right on the engine and the head blew. Im going to sue the dealership, not for the car because I did sign as is, but for the work they did on the engine and blowing up on me. I hope I can get somewhere with this, I also contacted news channels, consumer reporters, and let them know my story. I hope at least one responds, Im not counting on it but you never know.

oh man, i'm so sorry ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
at least go after them for the head gasket job- they have insurance to cover their liabilities for that. they can't just say it's not their problem. they should be buying you a new engine, and paying for SOMEONE ELSE to install it.
