hey i have a 2001 es300 and was wondering if i can put in leds for my daytime running lights.

 

I believe there are H13 (i think those are the high beam...not sure) Led bulbs. However, most of them are made in china, and they just won't last as long in a headlight housing which gets pretty hot. Also, you'll lose the function of your high beams.

 

No the high beam bulbs are 9005 and yes you can run leds but like tuan said you'll lose your high beams but how often do you use them anyway. I changed mine to yellow. Today I saw an IS350 with leds in his drl/high beams looked nice. If you try it post pics I would like to see it I have a 00.

 

o so u did that to. can u please take a pic of yours i wanna see how it looks. also what kind of led do i need to do it. and what color would be good.

 

It still wont look good, or be bright considering the LEDs will only be getting 6 volts because that is all the DRL's are. The high beams running at half voltage.

 

No I didn't go the led route, I'm running a yellow 9005 bulb. I'll take pics and post it up for ya. I didn't take any pics of the leds in the IS cause we were too busy just admiring it. Here's one from our lexus meet yesterday not sure if you can see the yellow.
