Odd noise...

So when my engine is running, I'm hearing a noise from the steering column area that sounds like a cassette player rolling. Anyone know what this may be?

so the noise is constant? or you hear it when you turn on or move something?

It's intermittent, sometimes I hear it whilst driving, sometimes I hear it when I'm sitting still.
