When you initially step on the gas pedal is it smooth or does it seem to have a little tension? If so then there's 1 of 2 issues that can be happening or both. The first is that the throttle cable is sticking somewhere. The 2nd is the butterfly valve in the throttlebody is sticking due to carbon build up. You can take carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner to clean it out. Cheap thing to do - $3 for a can or 2 of cleaner and some of your time.

This was what happened to my sister's camry from using cheap gas over a long period of time.

Good Luck

Tighten up your throttle cable, it has probably loosened up in the past 8 years. Or do you have an electronic throttle controller?

seafoam will only clean it out if it gets into the spot having the issue. If you remove the hose connected to the throttle from the air filter you should see a butterfly valve. Turn it and look inside. If it's dirty then spray some carb cleaner and clean it out as much as you can.

performance plug wires would offer less resistance and should increase throttle response. its worth a try

Having checked all the other stuff, Id check the air intake tube for cracks. That can cause a drivabilty issue. How may miles?
