96 ES300----relay or ecm??
I have an intermittent issue. The car starts fine, then after a 25 mile commute will either not start after shutting the car off, or it will just totally shut down while I'm driving. Two mechanics, here in New Orleans, couldn't get codes to figure out what the problem is. The guy that has it now figures it has to be the ECM. I called a Lexus guy in Birmingham, who worked on my parents' Lexus, and he says he's never had an ecm problem on an ES. He suggested swapping a couple of the relays and and see if it starts.
I shared the the information with my local guy and he says something like the relay is warm or that the ignition is getting voltage and says that's not the problem.
Any thoughts on this? Where's a good place to start looking for an ecm or should I get the car to Birmingham? Thanks.

dude they are giving you ****ty answers. the temp sensor might be the issue, as nad says. seriously, take it somewhere where they have experience on toyota and lexus, and getit really diagnosed, pay the cost.
we can't do anything more for you. your problem could be quite a few things.
