Default Another rim question...............

Ok if I pick up this guys MRR HR2s he has staggered 18x8 fronts and 18x9 rears. What size spacer am I going to need for the rears? I don't yet know the offset he hasn't let me know yet. Probably won't find out till I go and see them this weekend. Oh and what size tire should I run on the rears. I know 225 for the fronts but not sure what to do about the rears maybe 235s? He's running 245/45's I think this is coming off a truck. Also is there any problems I'm going to run into. I remember someone posting that they ran into problems when they did their IS rims that were 8.5's in the rear.

It really depends on the offset. Stock wheels from other cars have backspacing that doesn't clear the strut. You can ask if you can test fit them first to see if they clear.

He gave us no offset so I had to say most likely no. Good idea on asking for a test fit tho.

i have a 94 es300 and i have 18x8.5 all around and i am selling them now for 8 inch wides because in the rear they stick out to far so therefor when i hit bumps and the shocks raise and lower my wheel wells rub on the tires. i dont know if it is a diff. spec for the year you got but i wouldnt go bigger the 8 inch wide

Yeah sorry guys the person never got back to me with the offset. What kind of offset am I looking for on the rears? What if it's somewhere in the 30's? Will it then fit? I didn't call him yet so I still have a chance then, I'll try and call him today and ask him what the offset is.

Thanks,

RJ, are you lowered and using spacers? The spacers might help with your rubbing issues I think. Cause Choas runs 8.5's in the rears of his car but he has spacers on. Maybe he can chime in and tell you for sure. Thanks for your input on my ? I have to find out the offset of this persons rims so I can see for sure if they will fit or not.

If you want perfect fit then theres no better way then getting wheels custom built to your needs.

I got 18x8.5 +25 no spacers needed,hella flush approved...if i ever mount them!

Ok about offset for 8.5 width you want anywhere from 25mm to 35mm. When it comes to spacers I have 12mm and I'm still dangerously close to the strut. I am about to lower it and am going to fin out if I need to roll the fenders as well. RJ-es300 what size tires are you running cuz I don't rub when I hit bumps yet...
