I tried to replace the fuel filter on my '96 ES300 but after installing the new filter I couldn't get the intake flare fitting to seat before the threads bottomed out. Looked at other new filters and all were the same, the threads in the female end of the flare fitting did not extend to the bottom of the female fitting (stopped approx 1/4" from the bottom). The fitting on the fuel filter I removed had threads completely to the bottom. Need to know if the Toyota replacement has thread extending to the bottom. It's special order from the local dealer @ approx. $80. Would really appreciate any help.
