Default HELP! AC problem, 2002 ES300...

Here is my issue...

My A/C light was blinking and the blower was blowing out warm air a few days ago...

I found that the AC coolant was low and replaced it. I also replaced the cabin air filter (which was very dirty)...

Now, the AC works and blows out cold air when I am driving the car downhill, but warmer air is blown out when I drive the car uphill or on a level.

What can I do to fix this issue???? Do I need to somehow "bleed" the air from the AC lines????

Anyone's help would be appreciated!

That is very odd...

My question, do you have access to a proper a/c machine, or were you using the DIY kits from somewhere like autozone or napa? Your a/c refridgerant is either low, high, or charged to the proper amount. Being on an unlevel surface should not affect its performance. Also, with new model Lexus vehicles, it is no longer an accurate way to tell its state of charge by a visual inspection of the sight glass. Even with a properly charged system, you will still get air bubbles. If you charge it till they are gone, you have overcharged the system which results in poor cooling.

Is your A/C light still blinking? If so, do a TSIB search for EL009-05. There is a problem with the A/C's magnetic clutch relay. All it requires is simply replacing the relay and your A/C is back to normal (assuming you have no leaks and it isnt under or over charged).

I have seen a good 5-10 cars with this problem since the weather has gotten warmer.

I hope this helps.

Default Thanks!

Thanks onepointon!

The AC light is no longer blinkinmg, so it isn't the other problem you described.

I may have an air bubble...It cools sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. In the last day, I have noticed that it is random...sometimes cools going uphill now, so the problam has nothing to do with the elevation of the engine.

How do I remove an air bubble? How do I remove refrigerant if I overfilled it? Do I just leave air pressure out of the "H" or "L" port?

What would you suggest? Draining the system and starting over? How do I test the system?

TY!
