Windshield wipers traveling too far - 92 300
When my wipers are turned on, the driver's side wiper travels all the way past the edge of the windshield and over the frame. I tried switching the "rest position" connector by the wiper motor, but that yielded no change in the distance of travel. Both wipers appear to come to the rest position equally, but the driver's side one just wipes way too far.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what was the solution.

I had the same problem. My solution was to buy a slightly shorter wiper blade for the driver's side. I think I went with 19" instead of the OEM 21". Solved the problem and I don't really notice any significant difference in the area of window that the shorter blade cleans when compared with the longer one. The tip of the blade just doesn't travel over the edge of the windshield like the longer blade did.

92ES5SP, I think you may have the solution. It is my son's car and he just got back from college yesterday. We may take a stab at it this weekend.
Lexucan, if that doesn't work we'll probably go with the shorter blade as you have done.

ugh, not good. and we just realized that the windshield is loose. I'm thinking the previous owner had it replaced or something and whoever put it in didn't do it correctly. Which also explains a slight leak he has near the rear-view mirror.
when we get done with this thing it is going to be awesome.

Ok, here's the latest update. Since the windshield was loose, I had a glass company replace the seal/molding thing around the windshield. I told them the wipers were going too far on the driver's side so when they reseated everything, they put it all back together correctly. $165 - Supreme Auto Glass, Belton, MO. Now, on to the power steering problem.
