Default Gasoline odor

Strong gasoline fume coming from ventilation system at start up and when accelerating. Began this afternoon and I don't want to drive it further until I can check it out.

What can I do so I can limp into the dealer tomorrow?

edit: 2000 with 53K miles

I think you show tow it to dealer, if you feel unsafe. iF it were my car, I would have checked for major fuel leak, and if nothing major, drive it to dlr; but, another option is exhaust leak that smells something like fuel on a cold start up.

Do you have a check engine light?

Started up the next day and let it idle until warmed up. No gasoline smell. No check engine light. It's been sitting for a couple days now. Will start it again tomorrow and see what happens.

I limped to the dealer. Fuel injector seals to be replaced at $295.

Must not be a common issue as I could not find any info here after searching, and the dealer does not have part in stock. I was told that the part has rubber components that will wear with age.

Thanks to all who replied.
