your buddy? well if your "buddy" has painted before than yea? 500 isnt a bad price if all hes gotta do is sand and primer and paint it no body work my friend is doing that with body work on my civic si soon but if its 500 including paint... than you might want to buy more expensive paint... you got a lexus dont put stage 1 enamel crap on there get pearl paint like black magic pearl

Maaco paint job quality is questionable...
-Their paints are low quality
-Poor preparation
-Orange peel
Expect to pay $800+ for a decent paint job, including engine bay and door jambs.

Maaco sucks!
I wonder what kinda paint they use for only charging $500bux.For 3qts. of Honda blue paint by PPG I paid about $150 a qt! From previous experience I must remind you...you get what you pay for.Do it right the 1st time or your gonna end up spending more money to get it fixed.

With in a day or two dust settles on the car ruining the appearance. It's even worse if there's dust on the car then it rains - it ends up looking like you've been offroading down some muddy track. You also have to be soooo careful when polishing it or even wiping it with a sponge - shows up scratches very very easily. My last car was two tone silver and black with silver down the bottom so it wasn't as bad, but black all over including the bottom and front and rear bumpers are a nightmare as stone chips show up really easily too.
Black is nice and I still miss the mirror shine, but it's a huge commitment. Since getting my two tone white and silver ES I feel like I have my life back!!

[QUOTE=LiCelsior;3514602]did u read what he wrote?? his FRIEND told him to go to MAACO.
i just woke up and read it,even if his friend told him to go to maaco oviously he has a reason for saying it? has he seen his work? im paying someone 600 to put on a custom color including cutting and re welding quarter panels and painting it 2 stage. but thats really cheap. and if this guy is charging 500 for just repainting it and you buy paint maybe he knows what hes doing thats what the guy who paints my car charges for just a color change with no body work so idk? find out more info first see his work
