Which seal is bad on my 98 es300 (62k miles)?

Yes, by your description it's unlikely the culprit is the main rear seal. Best bets IMAO:
1. Rear valve cover gasket
2. Cam seals
3. P/S pump seals/hoses

I agree with smokesgtp: Valvoline Maxlife High Mileage is good stuff.
