Just say "NO!" to short ram intakes.
I intalled a short ram air intake that I ordered of the net yesterday. Biggest mistake I have made to my car. Now I have to shell out $300.00 for a Mass Air Flow sensor! It worked fine after I installed it, I drove around town on the highyway with no problems. Later that afternoon I was going to a friends house and my car almost stalled on me in my drive way. Thinking it was a fluke I went on on my merry way. Noticed at the stop light that my car was idling rough and when I took off my car would sputter. So I decided to return home. On a busy street where I have to turn to go home my car died on me. I almost got T-Boned by a pickup. Thank God he missed me. So I went home unplugged my MAF sensor and my car actullay runs better with it off. But I can't keep it off. So I tried MAF spray cleaner, it worked for a day. So now I 'm screwed and have to pay $$$ for a new MAF sensor. Not worth it even for the cool look factor.
I don't even hear the "I told you so" thread.

Really sounds like some kind of fluke. Are you sure you didn't damage it when you were removing/installing it on the new intake?
It is possible that it was damaged prior to you removing it, and when you removed it, it just set it off.

Thanks for the link kphu. Nah, I was careful taking out the MAF. I am auto parts experince so I know how fragile they are. I put my stock filter box back on had it helps a little but still runs rough.
