Avic Z2 in a 2002 Lexus ES300
Hi
I hope someone can help me, I am doing an install of a Avic Z2 in a 2002 Lexus ES300 and can't seem to get the Amp to fire (no Sound), I put the original back and it works, but not for the avic Z2.
grounds are fine and all is fine, Just wondering if some had similar problems and what did you do to get the Amp to fire.
Any help is much appreciated!!!

You're going to need an interface (that is if one exists) that lets your deck communicate with the amp. Otherwise your output will be muted. I think Lexus uses some type of unusual protocol. The reason is that they don't want their cars modded for some reason - maybe to stop teenagers from ricing them out and cheapening their image. lol.

I swapped out the amp and put in an aftermarket, now my next problem is the trim around the avic z2, I'm using a OEM ML navi bezel, does anyone have any ideas what to make it look stock.

You will need to buy some Toyota 'ears' for aftermarket nav units installed at the dealership. The dealerships use them for Eclipse installations to cover the blank spaces on both sides. Of course, dealerships don't use them for Lexus models but they work nonetheless since Toyota and Lexus dashes have the same nav and thus the same size opening.
