Hello - I searched through the forum - read the DIY on several topics on replacement but they seen to involve newer ES models and not the 1996..

Looks totally different. Read a couple inferences to a 96 rear replacement bulb though - one said had to remove black plastic and pull whole light assembly out.. huh? Is there someone out there who has explicit instructions on replacement of a rear running light? I cannot see removing the entire light assembly to replace a bulb.. I mean c'mon - you don't seriously have to do this do you? George

well dude i hate to say it but yea, u have to take off the entire tail light. 1) pop the trunk and pull up on the black plastic guard that runs across the rim of the trunk above ur license plate. careful not to break it. 2) start the find the little clips that hold the gray lining. there are 5 total but ull only need to remove 4 since u dont need to access the other tail. remove them and pull down the gray lining. 3) there are 4 8mm nuts u need to remove. 4) pull the entire tail light towards u. changing the bulbs are pretty easy and when ur done jus throw everything back to how it was. i think im gunna make a DIY thread for this wit pics n stuff so if u get stuck PM me or look for the thread.

oh and ull need a 8mm deep socket.
