My job in recent months seems to be "Lexus parts and mechanic labor purchaser"
90,000 mile major service including new timing belt and tensioners, two new serpentine belts, new water pump, thermostat, coolant flush and new coolant, two new radiator hoses and clamps, six new spark plugs, new PCV valve, new camshaft and crankshaft seals, transmission flush, fluid and filter, new brake fluid, new front and rear brake pads, new upper intake gasket and new differential oil.
Then not too long after that, my car needed one new ignition coil, oxygen sensor, one new spark plug (because the dead coil supposedly may have fouled that one plug), fuel system cleaning, and what the heck, a Mobile1 oil change and filter.
Then not too long after that my check engine light came on, and I needed one very expensive evaporation control canister (which is under the car immediately in front of the fuel tank) and valve.
And this all happened within a 2,000 mile span on the odometer.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My credit card now needs a heart transplant

two words for the present and aspiring mechanics, and this is very important:
disability insurance. your income depends on your physical ability. disability= no income= you're f'd in the a. been there, done that, don't wanna do it again.

I'm a printer in Washington, DC.
I do layout/design/typesetting and am the leadman in our shop, after running small to medium size single and two-color presses for many, many years.
I've been a printer for over 36 years.
I'm also a shadetree mechanic. I've done engine rebuilds, rear differential rebuilds, body work, some paint and some electrical work.
(Jack of all trades. . . master of a couple of them.)
