Exclamation tail lights

i have a 97 es300...i have been looking for 2000 or 2001 es300 tail lights because it takes out the orange. . . today i went to a body shop in search of them and they told me that the 2000-2001 es300 tail lights wouldnt fit in a 97. . . is this true? is there some other conversions that i need to do to make them fit?

theyre full of it. it is a direct replacement. same body style, just slightly differently shaded taillights. other than that, it is an R&R job.

I am happy to say just like the other members.... YES, YES, YES! They fit 100%

You just need the 2000-2001 wiring harness with the different end plug for the bootlid tails because the 2000-2001 lights come with an extra tail light globe in the boot lid. (The wiring harness is just the small wires and end plugs that connect the globes on the back of the tail lights.)

You don't need a wiring harness for the outer body tail lights becuase you can just use the one already fitted to your 97 model - straight swap.

Here's the day I got mine. (step by step fitting instructions) The link may take 30 secs or so to open due to all the pictures.

Enjoy!

I agree - avoid the dealer direct and try on-line at an OEM parts store. I live in Australia and the parts here are at least double if not triple the price compared to the USA. I try to get my parts from the USA where I can. I checked a few on line stores for you an the wiring harness is about $21 per side Excl shipping - not too bad considering the parts aren't easy to come by other than the dealer.

The tail lights are pretty expensive but definatley try on-line first. I got the outer pieces from Australia and the bootlid pieces from the USA. I think the bootlid pieces brand new cost about me about $200 US per side. Expensive I know but I really really wanted them and it's waaaay better than paying $500 per side in Australia!

Good luck - searching and patience is the key. I had to wait a long time before I got mine due to the cost, but in the end I got the best brand new price I could.

Yes, along as at the top of the page the car selected in the dropdown boxes are the Lexus ES300 2000-2001 model. (i'm pretty sure the link I gave you already has this selected as the model and year)
