Default 2000 ES 300 trunk opening switch problem...

...the switch on the dash for opening the trunk stopped working over this past weekend. It seems like I can hear a relay or switch activate when I push the button but nothing happens. There doesn't appear to be a fuse for it that I could find and now the only way to open the trunk is with the key.

Has anybody had the problem before or have any idea what it might be?

Thank you

I have the same problem with my '98...only way to open the trunk is with the key FOB, major pain in the butt having to turn the car off and remove the keys anytime I want to open my trunk.

Check the trunk lock out switch in the glove box. It disables the dash button for valet purposes, Someone may have accidentaly pressed it, locking out the dash button.

I feel like pretty much the dumbest person alive now...owned the car for a month or so shy of a year and never noticed that button.

thank you so much for that

Thanks for the replies everyone, I was away for the last week but checking my email for response notification and didn't recv any? That lockout could be my problem, it's actually my wife's car and I'll check today when I get home from work.

Thanks again,

Kb

Can you tell me where the switch it ? Is it in the dash glove box or the console storage boxes ? What do you do with the button IF you find one. Push it, pull it, or what ? Thanks in advance. MY wife's 2000 ES-300 Trunk button quit this past week.
