Hello,
Anyone have this issue before, or have knowledge of how to fix it/DIY?
I have a 99 ES300. Ever since Friday after driving thru a downpour (not standing water, just VERY hard rain) both the cooling fans keep running after the car is shut off. They continue to run until the battery is totally dead. I'm guessing it's either a relay or sensor that faulting. Any suggestions? I've removed several of the fan relay's from the fuse box, and they still continue running.
Help! I've got a Lexus that has to be jumped to start it now. If it's an easy fix, I'd prefer to DIY rather than giving the stealership a few hundred bucks.
Thanks,
cabochad

well your battery is shot now, so once you get this fixed, replace the battery too.
secondly, im not 100% sure what's happening. but you seem to know the things to look for. I would need to test various things in person. did you check the relay operation, yet?

Sounds like the cooling fan relay is stuck. Remove the relay, And replace it with a known good relay from another component. If they stop running, You found the problem.
You say uve removed the relays but the keep running? Thats kind of odd. Try jiggling the ignition switch, Perhaps the switch is faulty.
