Max rim size on a 1996 ES300?
I have been reading a lot on the ES300 forum and I can't wait to start modifying my 1996 Lexus ES300.
However, I couldn't find the maximum rim size for a 1996 ES300.
I was hoping I could get 20" rims on my Lexus.
Will there be any problems with the tires rubbing? If so can someone tell me a way to raise the car?
Also if anyone has any pictures of a 2nd gen ES with 20" rims please post! I really would like to see the size comparison to my stock rims.
Thanks in advance!

First off, to Club Lexus and the ES forum.
Check this ES Aftermarket & OEM Wheels thread for a look at what looks good.
A 20 on a 2nd gen ES (or 1st or 3rd gen for that matter) will not look good and will raise the vehicle too much. With a 2nd gen, you're looking at an 18 tops, IMHO.
Unless your brain is wired for DUBS-style, you can get too much wheel on your ES.

I going to try and get some nice 17" or 18" rims.

18"s are nice, just make sure they fit the wheel well, i went through all this on my 95, i can say that an 18"x8.5" will fit, granted you have to have an offset of around 32 or higher, but it looks sweet, have you dropped your car yet?

Call me strange, but I was actually thinking about Raising my car. By default the ES is so low to the ground, its hard for me to get in and out of, and with menicus tears its not always fun. Maybe 1" or so, just to make getting in and out less of a struggle. I dont want something ridiculous like a box chevy look, but I dont think theres anything wrong with a little lift.
BTW, what is the max for an 18x7.5 tire you can get that doesnt rub... unless you raise? Assuming raising doesnt occur, could you get an 45 sidewall on there?
