Default Wierd Clicking noise on rear, left side. I searched!

So I have had my 96 ES300 for about a year now and it has made this noise since the day I bought it. The left Hub has allready been replaced (but I think this may be the issue) and the brakes were just checked out by my mechanic.

Basically what the problem is, when the car gets warmed up and I have been driving around for a while, I notice a click, click, click noise from the left rear side, as I am rolling. This is on even surfaces with no bumps so I dont think it has anything to do with the saybar bushings which seem to be a known issue from me searching for a while .

As I accelerate, the clicking noise gets faster. as I slow down, the clicking noise slows down. at first it would only do it when I was on the brakes, but now it is even when I am driving at about 15-25 MPH. I have also noticed that when I am turning left, the noise is louder. I hope that is enough detail.

Brand new tires,
Hub was replaced about 8 months ago,(could be bad though as I can hear a howling noise on the freeway on the left side)
Brakes were checked out and all is good.

What could it be?

Please! My mechanics dont even know what it is. I need help!

The sound you are describing could be many things but since you've heard it since you bought the car a year ago, it probably isn't a rock in your tire tread.......that would be too easy.

It could be a worn CV joint or a loose center cap on one of your rims. The caps are held in place by friction and if some of the metal tabs that hold the cap on get bent out of shape, the cap can rattle around as the wheel rotates and cause a clicking noise.

the center hubs are loose, bend the things back out so they then will hold it tightly, again

i agree

also, check you axles

The cap seems a little unlikely just becasue it mainly happens when turning left. But what do I know. I just find it weird because it is intermittent and everyime I have brought it to a mechanic they never can figure it out. I really dont want to go to a Toyota/Lexus dealer either.

Check the axles for what? Loose bolts? I work on Motorcycles, not Cars. Although I am sure it isn't too hard to work on these things.

I've got two caps that do the same thing on my 96. What do I bend?

Pry the center caps out, being careful not to scratch the rim or denting the cap. Pull the metal tabs outward, and put it back in.
