Default '94 ABS Sensor...Do they fit flush or slip into the spindle casting?

I broke a wire. The shop said left front. I removed the sensor 10m bolt and tugged it off...it came off flush with the spindle casting. I fixed the wire, it passes juice thru both wires again. The light is still on.
Is there a reset....I disconnected the battery for a minute.
Did I break the sensor or do they come off flush?
Thanks,
John

If you unplug the abs wire, and plug it back in later, the ABS light automatically turns off.
Don't know about a broken wire though.

I've answered my question.......In reviewing pictures on auto part websites...Yup, I've busted the sensor in half, leaving a stub in the spindle.
I'm hoping I can remove the stub without having to pull the axle out in order to hammer the stub back out of the spindle.
Anyone experienced in doing this? I'm pissed I did not cut the two wires ahead of the sensor and trace for shorts from there...@#$%
