windshield fogs up when A/c is on.......
I recently bought a 92 ES with 74k miles. first problem is the windshield fogs up when I put the A/C on..I was wondering what this could be? It almost appears the leave residue behind also. Anyone know what might cause this? thanks

probably whatever was used to clean the windshield with last.
Try a foaming window cleaner. should fix it.
If not. Rain X makes an anti fog stuff for the inside of car windows. works great.
Works great on face shields for helmets too.

A/C works fine...I went through the ladies papers and she had a estimate for a A/C regulator that the mechanic said needed fixed. Does anyone know if this could cause these symtoms? thanks
I've cleaned the window 5 times already and it still comes back

Maybe it doesnt give u that cold crisp air at lowest temperature...or try not to re-circulate the air.. bring the air from outside ..and c if it still does the clogs up the windows

Posted the same information (verbatim) to the same question (verbatim), across the street.
A leak in your heater coil.
Is the floor on either side of the console damp?
Is there a 'sweet' odor (other than air freshener, if used)?
A leaky heater coil will leave a residue on the windshield. . . . that when you clean the glass, within a day or two, the residue returns. (And it's 'oily' too!)

no dampness on the floor board or no smell at all. I've seen cars with a heater coil or core going out and this just doesn't seem to be the same thing....

I'm leaning toward the heating coil or core......the only sign that's not there
is the wet carpet. 2nd I'm thinking the A/C regulator valve. Anyone ever had 1 go bad?
