on the 2nd gen headlight, the headlight assemly is removed, then the bulb is removed, and this bulb is a dual use, it does corner and turn signal

it seems that many es have socket issues not just the contacts for hte bulb, but also for the socket-to-headlamp interface. It's too complicated of a design, hence, weak. so check that your bulb is even worn out [broken filament] before buying new one.

^^+2 to that. More than anything, everytime you change your corner bulbs, check to see if the contacts are dirty. If they are, clean them with a cotton swap and alcohol if you want. I had rapid blinking before that with my new bulbs and after I did that they were A-ok!

So headlight assembly has to come out? Its not the low beam light bulb? I'm confused...

Oh, I was agreeing with llcoolpass. For you, however, since you have a 1997 ES. You can use this excellent DIY to take out, clean, replace your bulb
