17's or 18's?
Whats up guys im a new member and i have a question for you guys.
I have a 93 ES 300 and i want to know if i should put 17's or 18's on my Lex.
I want to put 18's but someone told me that it will rub. Is this true?
Any ideas or thoughts?
Thanks.
Great Club.

First off, to ClubLexus and the ES forum. You'll love it here.
Second, you'll be fine with either 17s or 18s. You just have to choose the correct profile tire. I'm running 225/40/18 (on a 7.5" rim) on mine with no rubbing issues. However, ride quality was affected somewhat with the larger rim and lower profile tire. Granted it looks more modern and updated, but there is a comfort trade off. Moreso, when you drop it on struts/springs or with coilovers later.
If you want to get some wheel and tire ideas, browse our "Official ES Wheels Thread".
There's very little going on in the ES world that hasn't been done, posted and discussed at length before, so get familiar with the Search function. It's our best friend on here. The forum forefathers had some wild conversations. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

You'll have to consider the cost of buying replacement tires as well as road noise and handling. Moving from 15 to the is300 17 inch rims, you can feel every single bump in the road with the lower profile tires, and there is a lot more road noise as well from the tires.
