Question 1994 ES300 Headlight Bulb Size Question

Can someone please help me with this...

I purchased a size 9006 HID kit for my lowbeams as per my owners manual, and when I tried to install it the bulb would simply not fit even after removing the rubber collar.

The original halogen bulb I removed was marked 9005U HB3. Out of curiosity I tried to insert a 9005 from my highbeams into the lowbeam, but it too would not fit.

What is the correct bulb size I need to purchase? Or what could I have possibly done wrong?

If it's just a problem with this specifc kit could someone with a HID kit installed please tell me the model of their kit and where to purchase....

Also,
Thanks for all the years of informative posts!

Low beam is 9006. Both 9005 and 9006 will fit into either socket in the housing (low/high), but only the wiring harness is slightly different.
My kit fit perfectly, just like oem bulbs...
Not sure what the problem is..

I purchased my 9006 HID conversion kit from XenonDepot. They are an official Club Lexus vendor, so I felt pretty confident I was dealing with a reputable business. This is their website: http://www.kbcarstuff.com/
If I were you I'd start a thread in the lighting forum about your problem or send XenonDepot (Steve) a private message, and I'm sure he'll try his best to help you. I've had my kit installed since February and I'm very happy with it.
If you want to see my write-up about the install, just click on the link in my signature below.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

P.S. I see you are located in Ontario. That is where KB Car Stuff is located too.

Best price on HID lighting hands down is ddmtuning.com $87 shipped for the 35w kit. Plug and play ready in about 20 minutes.

While they cater to mainly BMW performance parts the HID kit will work in any car that the bulb matches. You can also choose your color range like any other retailer.

Not too bash but HID has a simple and straightforward design. You really don't need to spend an arm and a leg considering Phillips makes most of the components anyways. Just don't get carried away with the temperature. Anything above 6000 is just for show

Just installed my 6000 Kit the other day. Got the 35w for $87 shipped.

Quality is great, comes with zip + mounting tape. The ballasts are flat and thin making mounting easier. Of course its plug and play so if you can install a light bulb you can install this kit.

Customer service was great, very personable and passionate about taking care of you.

^^ +2 to that one man. The deals they're having now are amazing. I got the 3000k Apexcone kit while they had it for $55 that week. I also have to agree with the customer service. I must've called Marcus and Casey like 20 times since my H3 bulbs took forever to come in lol

Also, you can't beat lifetime warranty
