All bolt patterns are the same for any toyota, lexus, or scion except for the ls460. The rims should fit fine but just to be sure what is the offset and width?

I guess so. I mean going from a 15" to a 16" is not worth the upgrade I would at least go with a 17".

It fits with a 3-5mm spacer in the rear.

I really want to keep a stock look, but would like some nice chrome rims
instead of the stock boring ones.
So with these rims I'd need a spacer in the back?

1999 GS300
Specs: 16X7.5 +50 mm offset
Centerbore for the gs is 60.1mm

For a 16" you would need a spacer? What is the offset on those?

Thread title says 17" so that's what I thought. GS wheels are 17x8 but they rub the strut without a 5mm spacer in the rear.

The 16x7.5 will most likely clear.

a 7.5 wide wheel with 50 offset might barely touch the strut. just put on 3mm spacers (like $15) on the rears to make sure u clear...

Agian with a 17" or 18" you can keep that look and it would make a real difference but to each his own. As far as the 16" you should not need a spacer.
Chrispy was just answering your original question.
