Default Water in headlight

Hi guys,

How is everyone doing?

i just got back from a trip. I had a great time and got some nice color, but my car sat in July/Aug heat at Philly's int'l airport parking lot for a week. I ran her through a car wash and now there is all this water/condensation in my passenger side headlight. I also noticed last night that the low beam light is also out.

I did a search and there is a thread that recommends a few solutions for a 95 es300, baking (which I really don't want to attempt) or removing the back and letting the moisture out, and something about silicone seals. I'm wondering if this also applies to the 05.

any guidance is most appreciated. Thanks!

Thai

I baked my corner light to clean in out some and now it gets condensation bad. You could also try to put those little silicone packets in there to help it which is what I will prob do soon. If done "right" baking is the only good way to fix it and while your at it you can clear your corners since you have a 2nd gen.

Know anyone in the area who wouldn't mind baking your headlights and resealing them with silicone or caulking?

not really, I'll ask some guys I'm kind of friendly with from NELOC, but I really want to do this myself and the easiest way possible.

Actually, according to the Lexus manual, Condensation in the headlights is a normal occurance, It is only a problem if there is standing water in the headlight assembly..

really? but there is a lot, enough to blur the light. I don't think there is standing water but either way, I'm not satisfied with it being there. I hope it clears up soon.

It was an option if you already have it its really not worth a retrofit. If there is no standing water try to stick a silicone pack in there and see what happens.

On the 05 and up ES330 the option for HIDs was commonly already on many of the cars. The dealers tried to package it with the auto sensing windshield wipers and what not. Just like the 17" rims was an option for 05 ES330, but I have yet to see an 05 or newer with out them.

Look at the outside of your headlight housing. If it says D2S on it somewhere, then you have HIDs.

Thanks for chiming in on this man. I do have the HIDs and the rain sensing wipers. I'm still trying to dry out my headlight though.

I have the same problem on my 92 es....It is very annoying to me and I've tried silicone around the head light, but next time I wash my car or it rains its right back. If you find out how to fix this please let me know and I'll do the same.
Choas...What is this silicone pack you mention?
