For your own safety, make sure you jack up the front end of your car and while the tires are off the ground, grab the tire at, 11 o'clock and 6:30 (between 5 and 6 o'clock) and try and move it as much as you can, if you feel any more play than just the tire moving, or if you hear anything, it could be your lower ball joint about to crap out. i just ordered my replacement today, 20-40 bucks for a set, including shipping. very worth it if you think about how much it would cost if the wheel became detached at the bottom, ripping apart the upper strut mount, tearing out the CV joint, steering and such.
i just checked my dad's Camry and my sister's Avalon, the Camry has 135k and its a little loose, but not quite there yet. im going to replace it regardless because after all, he is my father and there should be NO play in the front wheels. in my sisters Avalon which is a 97 with 115k miles on it, has absolutely no play in the tire in any angle, the only thing that gives is the steering.
and if anyone has q's please post because this is relatively important.
thanks for reading and good luck
