If you were to remove the stock sub, you would have an opening that would allow sound into the cabin and therefore not compromise the 6x9's in any way.
Yup, stock sub is gone, just the grill remains since that holds the 3rd brake light too I had to ziptie the fool down because It popped up when I really crank it!
